Your topics were very informative and interesting! I was particularly interested in the asthma and chronic Lyme topics. My oldest child is now an adult but, as a child was diagnosed with “cough variant asthma”. It is probably called something else these days. He didn’t have the wheezing symptom usually. It was usually triggered by seasonal allergies or a cold. When he was a toddler, I was always grateful when our pediatrician would give him Decadron for a few days because he’d cough so much and so hard that he would get sick to his stomach. When he was old enough, he’d use an albuterol inhaler and take prednisone whenever he had an episode. Fortunately, after getting allergy shots for a few years, he didn’t react anymore and was able to stop using the medications by his late teens.
Thanks! Yes these days would have used inhaled steroids instead of the oral decadron but glad he grew out of it!
